They apologized for their absence during the show, after an over-powering love oozed from everyone in the crowd. In a Pulp Fiction format, let's flip it and reverse it. From a six foot farewell to what appeared to be a line six blocks long, one thing had become quite clear: there were more than two 6's in the mix on Tuesday, November 21st. All Saturday nights are pretty great by default but this past Saturday, November 18, was especially awesome because two bands that have been huge parts of my adolescence came to rock my hometown. Glassjaw and The Used played at House of Blues in Houston while on tour promoting The Used’s 7th studio album “The Canyon” which was recently released on October 27th. The tour is also successfully building morale towards Glassjaw’s upcoming album said to be released in December of this year.

A confident band entirely comfortable with their sound, Alt-J took the stage in Houston at White Oak Music Hall under a November Texas sky. Dubbed a “New Radiohead”, the young British rockers filled the outdoor amphitheater, which holds over 3,000 fans. A thoughtful stage, reminiscent of their 2015 ACL appearance, with LED panels, intermittent green lights, and a soft fog, divided three equal sections for the harmonious sounds of keyboard, bass, and drums. Their creative use of space provides for a 3-dimensional experience, which compliments vocals that serenade their audience.
