POST MALONE

As if summer in Houston wasnt getting enough attention lately with hundreds of impressive tours and shows, Tuesday night was officially the cherry on top for this city when Post Malone came rollin’ in on his “If Yall Wernt Here, I'd Be Crying” Tour. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion was hosting the sold out evening and even the staff members were trying to contain their excitement. I mean it's safe to say everyone completely adores Post Malone, right? 16,000 sweaty humans gathered into the gates of the pavilion while stocking up on merch, double fisting some beers, and getting ready for the wild night ahead.

Austin Richard Post (AKA - Post Malone - AKA - Posty) has always been an interesting one, not only with his style, but his upbringing in the rap industry and simply his free spirited ways. He's always had that voice though, and everyone knows what I'm talking about when I say that voice.

The voice that could make any mamas smile and break hearts at the same time - Voice. There's just something different and unique about it and I'm pretty sure that's why millions are obsessed with the guy. But it doesn't just stop there, Post Malone is also a really humble stand up dude. He's chill, he's a gentleman, and you know… Likes to fucking party. Basically when you get yourself into a Posty show, you know you're about to have the time of your life.

As everyone got into their seats and spots, it was 9:10pm and the whole place went dark. A spotlight landed on the right side of the stage where there sat a String quartet to start off the set, then joined Post Malone and his band to the stage and the whole place went nuts. Everyone was screaming at this point with excitement (myself included) and automatically “Better Now” started blasting through the speakers. This was my first posty experience so I was instantly blown away by how incredible his vocals are. As I said before, we all know this guy is talented but even when he's singing live, it's just as striking as it is recorded… if not better. Post Malone hopped from one side of the stage to the other, with a full band to back him up and continued into his 24 song setlist taking breaks to talk to us Houstonians and raise his red solo cup for a cheers. I will say he made ALOT of little ladies happy with his constant pointing and smiling with heart shaped hands, and it was honestly one of the cutest things i've ever seen. It's not easy finding an artist out there these days who really genuinely care about their fans, let alone want to interact with them as much as they can, but Post Malone proved that night that he wouldn't be where he is without his fans and how much he absolutely adores them… and you could tell he was just immensely grateful to have everyone there. Continuing his set with hits including “Take What You Want”, “Rockstar”, “I Fall Apart”, and more and adding his occasional acoustic guitar to his attire and eventually losing his shirt, he really reminded everyone on why we all love this guy in the first place. With gorgeous backdrops and visuals, the brilliant band behind him, and his obvious spunky and charming energetic personality with that voice to top it off, everyone was legit in awe the whole night.

Ending the performance of a lifetime with encores “Sunflower” and “Chemical” Post Malone put on an extremely momentous yet beautifully delicate performance and it was by far the best show i've attended this summer… and trust me, i've attended a lot. Post Malone is definitely a class act and one hell of a performer. I've literally never seen someone with that much energy on stage. It was truly an incredible experience.
