ABOUT VIOLETA
Houston native, Violeta Alvarez, was voted Houston’s Best Top 10 Music Photographers by the Houston Press. She lived in New York City for 16 years and studied at Pratt Institute of Design, where her focus was Art History and Media Studies. She then continued her education at Parsons The New School of Design where she studied photography with influential artists Bill Gaskins and Charles Harbutt (for9mer President of Magnum Photos). Her images have been featured in publications such as New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, Alternative Press, MTV, and many others.
