MUSIC MONDAYS: Trippie Redd
POWERED BY
Hundreds filed into Revention Music Center on a cold Saturday night for Trippie Redd’s sold out “Love Me More Tour”. Audience members huddled close together to get as close to the stage as they possibly could. The lineup included openers Joy Bruno, Flash Gottii, Kodie Shane, and Blocboy JB. The night began with brief sets from Joy Bruno and Flash Gottii who set the tone for the night. Kodie Shane got the crowd riled up as she ran, danced, and jumped across the stage performing hits such as “No Cap Rap,” “Shut Up,” and “End Like That.” Viral dance “Shoot” creator Blocboy JB took to the stage next with a group of his friends. He danced and jigged along as he performed songs including “Look Alive,” “Rover 2.0” “Hard” “Don’t Say That,” “ChopBloc 2,” “Mercedes” and of course “Shoot.” The crowd fed off of the infectious energy provided by all of the openers as they anxiously awaited Trippie Redd’s performance. Trippie emerged on to stage in an aura of psychedelic stage lights in front of a sea of cell phone lights. The light show was psychedelic in nature while the stage setup was somewhat reminiscent of Alice and Wonderland mixed with a cemetary. There was a gated heart, giant mushrooms, and flowers. As concert goers shrieked in excitement, Redd lit up a blunt and began performing “Leray.” He guided audience members through his discology as he performed songs including “Who Needs Love,” “Love Sick,” “Love Me More,”“Hate Me,” and “Topanga.” Redd called for mosh pits as he continued to perform hits including crowd favorites a cover of XXXtencion’s “Fuck Love,” and Redd’s notorious tracks “Bust Down,” “Dark Knight Dummo,” and “Yell Oh.”
