Social Media Marketing 101
We hear it at every convention, every meeting, and every grand opening, shit it’s in our DM’s about 15 times a day, … “I love Texas Inked, why don’t y’all ever show me love”? Our blank faced stares are because, WE DON’T KNOW WHO THE HELL YOU ARE! Don’t get us wrong, we would love to get to know you. We would love to show our support for your artwork, but how can we if you have never made yourself available to us. I’m not talking like stalker status, I’m just suggesting using the basics of Social Media Marketing. If you aren’t the most “hip” when it comes to social media, we post tips randomly that can help you help us.
One of our most commonly posted is “How to Get Our Attention”. Getting the attention of a business or brand can sometimes be a daunting task. We specifically tell all of our followers, and those few potential followers how to grab the eyes of our social media crew…..
Use our hashtag #texasinked & @!!! That’s it. No big secret!!!
But, even with us screaming this from the IG mountain tops, few do it.
The proof is there, try it for yourself. Know your own personal social media worth (ie. you have 128 followers, the brand has 100k, doesn’t make sense right). Approach a brand that can benefit from your relationship,as well as you from theirs. Not in their DM’s (at first). Allow that brand to get to know you. Let them see the repetition. It will happen! Post your normal everyday post, or story, and use the brands #/@. It may take a few weeks or months, but trust me we see those people. Those are the people that make this “job” worth it.
How does this help the brand you ask (because we know you worry about us too, right)?
It allows the business/brand to have those numerical bragging rights. Those numerical bragging rights mean we get to meet amazingly cool people who can help us get YOU noticed. It really is all a huge game of getting to know you. Our contacts start seeing us post you and boom, they want to post this cool person too. Our brands do not exist without a following. There would be no need for a Texas Inked if we didn’t have our bad ass followers.
