Introducing

Rise of the Machines Tattoo Expo & Car Show

Often times, we look at tattoo artist, and are amazed by the artwork we see in front of us, but fail to really get to know them. We see images on Instagram, and little glimpses into their home life, we may even hang out in the same bar, but again we don’t really know them. Well, we definitely know these guys, and suggest y’all get to know them as well.

Introducing Puppet & Lazy

Puppet & Lazy, some of the coolest brothers we know, own a tattoo shop in the small East Texas town of Tyler. If you have been to Tyler, and have gotten tattooed, you have probably been to their shop Lost Boys Tattoo Studio. Puppet has been part of Texas Inked in many ways since about the beginning. We have attended many events with them, and don’t see an end to that in the future, like ever! The Lost Boys (Puppet/Lazy/crew) attend tattoo conventions regularly, and have always wanted to bring the culture and fun of a convention to Tyler, TX… Looks like that dream is coming true!

Puppet & Lazy bring you Rise of the Machine Tattoo Expo & Car Show!!! Check out our mini interview to wet your taste buds! Congratulations Puppet & Lazy, we couldn’t be more proud to be part of this event!

This is the first year of your Tattoo convention what do you intend to bring different to the table than the other Texas Conventions?

Off the bat, we're local; we know the community; and we're here to bring that unique lineup of events. Also, the best tacos in East Texas.

What type of events are there going to be besides tattooing?

We're having a car show, a 3-day pool tournament, live music, a modeling event, aerial dancers and some extra stuff for the family. There's still time for more.

Around how many artists can one expect to see?

We are planning 80 and up, but also up to 200 vendors

What can a person who has never been to a tattoo convention expect?

I mean it's a look into the tattoo industry, another avenue for artists. It will be an experience where people can have a fresh perspective of it and also include their family.

How much are tickets going to be?

$15 a day, and $35 for the 3-day pass

Is it kid friendly?

Absolutely! We will be having face painting and temporary tattoos for the kiddos.

The awards for shows are a big deal to the artists to add to their collections, do you have something dope in store?

We always have something dope up our sleeves, you'll see .

What are 3 words to describe the show your putting on?

loud, busy, and banging!!!

The design for the show was Hand drawn by you correct? And how log did it take? can you tell us some cool info about it?

Yes! It's cool because it was done by hand, like no one does that and it took over 30 hours!

Thanks for everything anything else you wanna add?

You know both me and Lazy are really excited because we felt like it was the perfect time to do something we've always wanted to do. We've been tattooing in Tyler forever and we're now having this for ourselves rather than just going to conventions. It's cool shit.
