Elestial Spa - Houston's First Cannabis Concept Spa
Helen Ruiz opened Elestial’s doors this August as a revolutionary spa focusing on cannabis-rich
skincare and body treatments. Elestial offers a variety of services including lash extensions, lifts,
tints, waxing, and facials. The most popular services range from a variety of full spectrum CBD
infused facial treatments. CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid with an
array of health and medical benefits. Helen explains that CBD is hemp derived and federally
legal, and spa treatments are suitable for all ages. Topically, CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory,
antioxidant, promotes healing and regulates oil control, and is rich in omega acids. Helen is a
Houston native and a dual licensed massage therapist and esthetician. She says, “CBD first
became legal in Texas in 2015; my mom started using the tinctures for arthritis pain, muscle
tension, and headaches. I saw first-hand the benefits and transformation it had on her
perspective of cannabis oil. I knew the powerful benefits, and I wanted to incorporate it into my
spa, making cannabis more mainstream and breaking the stigma. “

A. My favorite service to offer is a specialized CBD facial with a dermaplane or peel add-on
for added exfoliation and instant radiant results.
Q. Who is a candidate for CBD services?
A. CBD is ideal for all skin types, Rich in omega acids 3 and 6, it is ideal for dry or mature
skin. CBD also has anti analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for acneic
and oily skin types.

taken away by the aroma of patchouli and rose botanical garden blend, with dim lights and lit
crystals to induce focus and deep relaxation, ultimately bringing Zen to the mind, body and
soul.
